Cowtown Marathon officials announced that results for today’s kids’ run reflect the actual route taken by the 4,831 participants. The 1.8 mile route run by participants varied from the 5K (3.1 miles) course originally certified by marathon officials. Participants in the kids’ run inadvertently left the course after a lead police vehicle stopped to control traffic. Posted results for all participants reflect a 1.8 mile course. Overall and age group awards are being issued based on these results. No other events are affected. The Cowtown is dedicated to providing a safe, fun event for all participants and is truly sorry for any impact that this may have had on the runners. Procedures will be reviewed to ensure that The Cowtown continues to be a quality event.
